These lenses are built around cinema standards: 0.8 MOD gearing, 95mm front diameter, 16-blade irises for controlled bokeh, and dual metric/imperial focus scales. The optical design emphasizes clean rendering with minimal breathing and natural color, avoiding the soft-focus character of vintage glass while retaining the smooth dimensionality needed for controlled shallow depth of field. On set, that means fast lens changes, familiar matte box compatibility, and predictable follow-focus behavior across the entire range.

Weight varies between focal lengths but stays practical; the series ranges from approximately 1.5kg to 1.85kg per lens. Available as individual primes or in curated kits (5-lens, 8-lens, or 10-lens sets), the Arles line works with RED V-Raptor, ARRI Alexa LF, and other large-format cinema cameras, as well as conventional full-frame systems.
